Singer and percussionist Guiomar Campbell, is a native of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and has been performing in Toronto since 1978 in various Brazilian as well as Cuban, South African, and World percussion ensembles. Guiomar leads the band Parabolica Toronto based musical group built on a strong foundation of Afro-Brazilian Folk rhythms, bossa nova, samba, forro, played with a jazz sensibility.

Guiomar runs workshops for both adults and children in samba drumming and dancing, and is the creator of Biosync-Rhythm, a combination of self acupressure and movement with drumming, and yoga.

Her passion for the music has lead her to become the "Diva" of Brazilian music in the Canadian and Brazilian community of Toronto. She has pastedGraphic.pdfappeared in many performances including Toronto Pops Orchestra, Montreal Jazz Festival with Jesse Cook and the Global Divas with Grammy nominated jazz flautist Jane Bunnett.

Guiomar recently received an award for her achievement in art and culture by the ministry of Multiculturalism, Jean Augustine and National Ethnic Press. Guiomar was also part of the cast of Da Kink in My Hair, a successful canadian play that took place at the Princess of Wales Theatre.
