"Campbell Trio" which plays a variety of instrumental and vocal music ranging from Brazilian bossa nova to Cuban bolero and American jazz standards.
Guiomar plays a wide variety of percussion instruments from Brazil including many of those found in the Rio samba schools as well as from other regional styles:
surdo (large bass drum), timba and tan-tan (medium sized drums),
pandeiro (tambourine with jingles), tamborim ( small, no jingles), chocalho and
caxixi (shakers), muringa (clay pot), calimba, djembe and many others.
Her passion for the music has lead her to become the
"Diva" of
Brazilian music in the Canadian and Brazilian community of Toronto. She has appeared in many performances including Toronto Pops Orchestra, Montreal Jazz
Festival with Jessy Cook and the Global Divas with Grammy nominated jazz flautist Jane Bunnett.
Guiomar recently received an award for her acheivement in art and culture by the ministry of Multiculturalism, Jean Augustine and Natinal Ethnic Press. Guiomar was also part of the cast of Da Kink in My Hair, a succefull canadian play that took place at the Princess of Wales Theatre.
As various fans has commented her ability to sing, play and dance in a performance is very unic and highly inspiring.

Other Skills
Besides music, Guiomar also share great passion for Healing arts. She is a graduate of Nursing at the University of Juiz de Fora, Brazil, specializing in obstetrics. She has worked for several years as a midwife, conducted prenatal classes and stretching exercise lessons for pregnant women.
Guiomar is a certified shiatsu therapist, for the past eleven years having graduated from the Shiatsu School of Canada were she completed 2200 hours of intensive training in shiatsu practice, Western science and Eastern medicine. Guiomar also holds a diploma in acupuncture and moxabustion therapy, and worked as a Shiatsu instructor in the Diploma programa at Shiatsu School of Canada. She also completed a tai massage course and Reiki with Reiki Master Lerrita Rubinoff , has touch workshops on self- shiatsu around Toronto, including Toronto Western Hospital as well as a number of private companies. She has written over 55 articles about natural health and nutrition for, a portuguese language newspaper based in Toronto, and has become a health consultant in the brazilian and portuguese community. For the past 6 years has been studying tantra breathing exercise and practicing tantra healing and vipassana meditation. Her passion for music and therapy has given her a lot of insights and a tremendous experience in dealing with the puyblic both as groups and individuals.
Guiomar has extensive experience treating people with many conditions and disabilities including children and infants. She has her private practice in Toronto.

Parabolica
Parabolica
is a Toronto based musical group built on a strong foundation of Afro-Brazilian
rhythms, bossa nova, samba, forró, played with a jazz sensibility.
From the sophisticated swing of Rio de Janeiro to the Afro-Brazilian
sounds of Bahia, Parabolica plays their own original music as well as
songs made famous by such Brazilian artists as Antonio Carlos Jobim, João
Gilberto, Elis Regina, and Djavan.
Their high energy show ranges from Brazilian folkloric music, to
popular samba medleys, to jazz and funk-inspired original compositions.
The group's name is a Portuguese word derived from the
word parabola, a geometric curve found in various forms throughout
nature and the universe. It also commonly refers to a TV satellite dish in
Brazil.
Guiomar is joined by her husband Colin Campbell on
guitar and cavaquinho (Brazilian ukelele). From Toronto, Colin has played
in and around this city for many years in Brazilian, Latin jazz, African,
R&B, Jazz, and original music groups.
Parabolica also includes Paco Luviano on bass, Caco on drums, and Jay
Danley on Jazz Guitar and Tres (Cuban Guitar), with each
player doubling on percussion for a samba batucada.

Afro-Brazilian
House-Beat
The Afro-Brazilian House-Beats
are a combination of live Brazilian music with the latest electronic
techno and acid jazz grooves fused in a seamless mix of original and
classic bossa, samba, and AfroBrazilian melodies and rhythms. Guiomar
Campbell's vocals interweave with polyrhythmic samba drumming and African
influenced guitar lines with trance like beats and samples courtesy of El
Shaman, DJ Brian.
Guiomar and El Shaman are joined by Colin Campbell on guitar,
cavaquinho, and berimbau, Paco Luviano bass, Dave French sax and flute,
Maninho percussion, and Caco drums and percussion.

From Toronto, Colin has played in and around this city for many
years in Brazilian, Latin jazz, African, R&B, Jazz, and original funk
and rock groups. Aside from guitar, Colin also plays the cavaquinho
(4-string ukelele type guitar) and berimbau (musical bow struck with a
stick, used to accompany capoeira, a Brazilian martial art).
Paco
Luviano
Paco Luviano was born in Acapulco, Mexico. The son of an
established musician in Mexico, Paco was raised in a musical environment
and his training began in the home. He began playing bass
professionally at the age of sixteen, and at the age of twenty, left
Mexico to tour the United States with a pop band. Upon his return to
Mexico, Paco played extensively with many bands before making his home in
Canada in the early 90’s. Paco has established himself in Toronto
playing many different styles of music including Jazz, Funk, Latin Jazz,
Salsa, Afro-Brazilian, Rock, Pop and R&B. As well as playing the 6
string electric bass, Paco also has fluency on the acoustic bass. He
is a known session musician in the city and has played on many pop and
Latin albums including Liona Boyd's newest CD , "Camino Latino",
and Nick Ali & Cruzao's, "Shades of Brown".
